Environmental Policy

BMN recognises its responsibility towards contributing to the protection of the environment. The company is concerned to minimise the impact of its activities upon the environment and as such aims to promote an effective awareness amongst its staff of suitable practices consistent with a range of environmental concerns.

The company undertakes to:

  • Comply with all environmental legislation
  • Maximise use of public transport for travelling to work and for conducting our activities outside the office
  • Minimise use of natural resources and energy
  • Recycle materials wherever and whenever possible
  • Dispose of waste in a safe and responsible manner
  • Purchase recycled materials where it is appropriate to do so
  • Not trade with suppliers behaving in an environmentally irresponsible fashion

Specific activities that we have undertaken to date are:

  • Recycling all paper, cardboard and glass that is used within the office
  • Providing investment into a digital infrastructure to support a paperless interaction with our suppliers and customers
  • Routinely challenging all usage of paper for internal processes
  • Turning off all electrical equipment after use and avoiding leaving anything on standby
  • Continuing to lobby the local council for an office waste recycling system

The company will further enhance its environmental practice by introducing the following measures:

  • Implementation of a formal Environmental Performance Report to quantify the extent to which our environmental measures are working
  • Establishment of an employee led initiative to identify, implement and promote new ideas for further improving our environmental performance
  • Permanent removal of all non-duplex printers to facilitate double sided printing only
